Providence Celebrates Sixth Convocation
Providence Christian College held its sixth convocation exercises on September 1. It was a time for students and staff to remember the college mission. In this vein, Dr. Strauss encouraged students to study and explore the world around them with the reverent awe and zeal described in Psalm 19.
Freshmen Students Arrive for Fall 2010 Orientation
On Friday, August 29, the expectant community of Providence Christian College welcomed 19 new students to its new campus. These young adults came from all over the country and Canada to attend freshmen orientation before the returning students arrive. The resident life staff was especially eager to see students arrive.
Pasadena Bound!
Providence is moving to Pasadena, CA! Our students, faculty, and staff are excited. The new campus will give us room to grow while providing many more regional opportunities to meet our institutional goals.
Changing of the Guard
Our president Dr. J. Derek Halvorson was interviewed by author Glenda Mathes for an article in the recent April 28, 2010 issue of Christian Renewal magazine. He answers questions about the joys and challenges of the presidency, and his prayer for the future of our institution.

The Providence family came together on Saturday, May 1, at the Albers Chapel on the Ontario Christian High School campus to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our second graduating class, the Class of 2010. Each of these individuals have made their family, friends, and the Providence community very proud. Read more?
Annual Golf Tournament Raises Money and Awareness
On Monday, April 12, Providence held its second annual golf tournament at the Green River Golf Club. We had 74 golfers coming from the Escondido, Belflower, Pasadena, and Ontario/Chino area to support Providence athletics. We are very grateful to all those who came to have a good time on the course.
Providence Hosts Annual Donor Banquet
We recently hosted our annual donor banquet in the local Ontario area, with 160 people spending the evening learning about the distinctive 4-W program that Providence provides for their students.
Providence's New Mascot Unveiled
Amidst loud cheers and overflowing school spirit, the new mascot was unveiled at an all-school assembly. Piet Hein the Sea Beggar walked on the stage wearing his blue and orange costume, his "klompen" wooden shoes bearing the Providence logo, and the confessions of the Reformation tucked firmly in his belt.
Drama Club Presents Scenes & Songs
The Providence Drama Club presents Scenes & Songs on April 16 and 17 at 8 pm. See students perform several one-act plays and musical numbers.
Red Hat Ladies Bring Cheer to Campus
The Red Hat Ladies of Chino joined Providence students for dinner and a night of card games. This is a semiannual favorite of the students, when they get a chance to meet and fellowship with the older Christian generation.
Recent 4Ws Focus on Art and Culture
For the past two weekends, Providence students have enjoyed 4W Experiences that have taken them to a local theater production, a theater production in Hollywood, and to The Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
A Short History of Happiness
Distinguished Pepperdine University professor Wilfred M. McClay will be speaking in the Providence Chapel on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM. The title of the lecture is "A Short History of Happiness."
Students Sacrifice Spring Break for Service

Intercollegiate Cross Country Program Set for 09-10
Providence is pleased to offer a Cross Country program for men and women during the 2009-10 academic year. During this inaugural year of the program, we plan to participate in some great scenic, historic, and simply exciting runs.
PCC Students Spend Spring Break in AZ Mission Work
A group of 7 PCC students headed for Phoenix, AZ on March 1 to engage in some inner-city mission work. Working with a PCA-based organization called New City Phoenix, they had a week of learning about and experiencing that mission field first hand.

On February 26 a group from Providence served the homeless breakfast at Union Rescue Mission. on Skid Row in Los Angeles. Kicking off spring break with a Day of Service has been a Providence tradition since the beginning.
PCC Community Mourns the Death of Jennifer Uwarow
Providence Christian College students, faculty, and staff were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jennifer Uwarow on Sunday, February 8. Jennifer served as the Resident Director at PCC until December 2008, when her recurring fight with cancer became an ever greater struggle and she had to give up her responsibilities at the college.
SWAT Club Collects Gifts for Operation Christmas Child
For the second year in a row, the SWAT Club collected gifts and shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of the Christian relief and evangelism organization Samaritan's Purse.
