Providence Christian College is pleased to announce receipt of the largest single gift in the college’s history—a $250,000 grant from a foundation that wishes to remain anonymous. The gift comes without restrictions, and will be used to fund scholarships for students and to support academic programs.
“A gift of this magnitude is a wonderful blessing at any time, but the nature of this gift makes it a special encouragement. For the gift to come from a donor who has never given to us before, in the midst of one of the worst economies we’ve seen in decades, is a testament to the importance of Providence’s mission. The church and the world need thoughtful, well-educated, biblically grounded Christians, and shaping those sorts of Christians is exactly what Providence is about,” said Providence President Derek Halvorson.
“We are deeply grateful to all those who support the college, through their prayers, their gifts, and their enthusiastic promotion. And today, we are thankful in particular for God’s provision of a new friend who sees in Providence a strategic opportunity to invest for the sake of the kingdom of Christ.”
