As the new Resident Director, Jennifer is responsible for overseeing the Resident Life program. Jennifer formerly taught high school English and Practical Living courses as well as developed the College and Career Guidance Department at Hesperia Christian High School in Hesperia, California. She is enthusiastic about transitioning to a college campus and helping to promote the best possible residential environment for students to thrive spiritually, socially, and academically. Jennifer is eager to see the Providence student body become the authentic and joy-filled spiritual community which fosters growth and glorifies God. "The burden of my heart is to see students discover Christ in such a way that everything else in their life naturally finds its subsequent place."
In addition to mentoring students and facilitating the resident life program, Jennifer trains and supervises student employees and assists the Student Life Department in general. Jennifer is a California native, but spent some time in Denver attending Colorado Christian University and working with at-risk youth in a lock-down treatment facility. It was at this time she met her husband Peter who teaches Bible & Philosophy at both the high school and college level. They attend New Life Burbank (PCA) where Peter directs the "Equip to Engage" program and Jennifer writes the online devotional.
Jennifer enjoys what she calls, "the simple and amazing things in life that point me to the beauty of God"; things like fat-bellied birds on a branch, an old, soul-enlarging book, California's various art museums, and a genuine conversation. As a two-time cancer survivor, Jennifer was the 2007 Grant Recipient from Today's Woman foundation. She has been recognized by San Bernardino County for her dedication to excellence in education and is currently a proud member in good standing with the International Banana Club. |
