Bethy Schmidt
Resident Assistant

Bethany Schmidt is a sophomore at Providence Christian College.  She is the resident assistant for 15 girls in Hesed Hall who “make my job a breeze,” she says.   She wanted to be an RA to help young women at Providence grow spiritually, academically, and socially.

The second of four children, Bethany is a fourth-generation Californian who couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. She is the product of a home school education in the classical approach.  Home schooling provided many opportunities for her to try a variety of interests including playing piano, violin, and hand bells; participating in team sports such as soccer, baseball, and volleyball; and learning to clog. She also had the opportunity to travel with her family throughout most of the United States and to England. Her parents encouraged her to pursue volunteer work, and her efforts earned her a congressional gold medal.  Bethany grew up attending Providence OPC and has always known of the Reformed faith.

Bethany is pursuing a liberal studies major with minors in bible, history and business. Though unsure of her future career path, she hopes to home school her own children one day. She enjoys being with family and friends, playing croquet, and admits to actually liking to study.
