On behalf of the faculty, let me welcome you to the Providence Christian College website.
As you look around, you will see that there are many distinctive things about an education at Providence. First, we approach all of life from a Christian perspective. Reformed Christian education is built on the recognition that a sovereign God created all things for his glory and chose to reveal himself through creation, Christ, and Scripture. The Bible is not restricted to Theology courses; it pervades all that we do.
Second, we believe education is most effective when student and professor join together in dialogue. As with many Christian colleges, we have small classes, but we also have students learning one-on-one with professors inside of the classroom and out. Our professors and students have gone together to explore tide pools and museums, academic conferences and artistic events.
Third, we believe that education involves the whole person (what the Bible calls the “heart”), not simply the mind downloading information. Our professors and students work together, worship together, and eat together as a community. We do not believe that education is limited to classrooms and assignments; God calls us to grow in our knowledge of him and his creation throughout all of life.
Finally, let me encourage you to visit us. A web page can only show you a small piece of what a Providence education is all about. We invite you to spend some time with us as you consider God’s call for your life.
Grace and Peace,
Dr. Russ Reeves
Academic Dean
