4-W Experience: Westminister Seminary Conference
Conference Speakers

Location:  Westminster Seminary California, Escondido

Description:

Each spring Westminster Seminary California presents a conference that explores the biblical, cultural and historical significance of a reformed perspective on current issues in the church.  This is a short but powerful conference, with the majority of the Westminster faculty leading sessions.  The conference is held on Friday evening and Saturday morning and afternoon.  While short, Providence utilizes this time to learn more about God and each other.  The Providence students, staff, and faculty spend Friday night in a hotel in Escondido; as expected this is a great time of building the Providence community.  Late night discussions over board games accentuates the rich theological learning at the conference.  The recent topics covered by the Westminster Conference were ...

  • 2006   Meeting God on His Terms: Word and Sacrament as Means of Grace
  • 2007   The Law of God and the Christian
  • 2008   Missional and Reformed: Reaching the Lost & Teaching the Reached

What Providence students are saying:

  • "This experience is absolutely wonderful for preparing believers to be grounded and engaged.  It helps to explain what we as Reformed Christians believe and why.  And when we are firm in our beliefs, we are ready to defend them."
  • "Conferences like this should be sought out for future 4-Ws.  Great experience ... It was awesome to experience this learning with our professors."
