4-W Experiences Program

One of the distinct programs at Providence is the 4-W Experience.  The "Weekends of Work and Worship in the World" move students out of their comfort zone and into the wonderfully diverse SoCal community.  As our motto states, every Providence student "fully engages" the culture through this program.

In order to understand this program correctly, you need to have a broad definition of "worship."  The 4-W program uses the definition that Paul refers to in Romans when he states that our lives should be  "living sacrifices"  which is an "act of worship" (Romans 12:1,2).  Worship is to be seen as all of life.

With this in mind, the 4-W program incorporates a wide range of experiences to show our students that worship is not just a personal experience or one hour on Sunday ... worship to God should be in "every square inch" of our life.  We do everything to God's glory.

The 4-W Experience at Providence involves missions, culture, academics, recreation, entertainment, and retreats -- because these things (and more) are "all of life".  This program allows students to live and learn how to worship God with all of life.
